I was born 57 years ago in Stawiszyn (the smallest city in Poland, but with an old and colourful history). School years I've spend in Wroclaw, but have worked in Orneta, Glogow, Wroclaw and now in Warsaw.

I began as a decorator, then I worked as institutional artist, draughtsman, metal construction painter, artistic consultant in a magazine, journalist...
I've spend 10 years as a permanent graphic artist in Panstwowy Instytut Wydawniczy (PIW) in Warsaw, one of the best publishing house in Poland. 15 years ago I've established a graphic design atelier called ALW GRAFIK. I specialize in company logo and logotypes design. Moreover I work as a freelancer.

familly

I have a wonderful wife Danuta (since 20 years) and equally wonderful daughter Anna. She's studying and is also my co-worker, fluently speaks english, photographs and love's books just like I do. Oh, and there's also our Tiramisu, permanently ill pointer.

exhibitions

I took part in 124 international cartoons exhibitions, mainly in Bulgaria, Canada, Italy, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Greece, Nietherlands, Poland. Twice I visited Humour and Satir Festival in Gabrovo (Bulgaria).

Participation in 16 exhibitions of illustrations for children in Bologna, Tokyo, Barcelona or London (European Illustrations).

I've had 7 individual exhibitions of satirical drawings in Poland.

nickname

My nickname was created: a) to simplify my signature under picures in press, in consideration of permanent distorting my surname b) from laziness and easy transposition of my initial letters.
